FutureBit Apollo Solo setup mines Bitcoin block 973,262 and earns 3.154 BTC

A miner using FutureBit’s Apollo Solo setup found Bitcoin block 973,262 earlier this week, taking the full 3.154 BTC reward along with fees from 2,477 transactions. Multiple block explorers, including mempool.space, labeled the finder as “FutureBit Apollo Solo,” and the coinbase transaction carried text referencing both FutureBit and Apollo. FutureBit said the block template was built by an Apollo device or a Solo Node running its built-in solo pool, which also served the work and submitted the completed block to the network. Public records do not show the exact hardware model or hashrate behind the winning hash, though the company said it could have been an Apollo BTC, Apollo II, Apollo III, or another compatible machine connected to a Solo Node. The company has now been linked to at least four solo-found blocks, and the report places the result in the broader context of home mining, where odds remain extremely low against a network hashrate recently near 1,070–1,087 EH/s, even as verified solo wins continue to appear on-chain.

Heatbit unveils Bitwater water-heater element that mines Bitcoin while heating water

Heatbit, the company previously known for a Bitcoin-mining space heater, has introduced Bitwater, a water-heater heating element that replaces the resistance wire in a standard electric water heater with 20 Bitcoin mining chips. The company said the chips generate heat that is used directly to warm the water tank, arguing that the same electricity would have been spent on hot water anyway, with Bitcoin mined on top of that. According to Heatbit, Bitwater uses 20 Bitmain BM1370 chips and delivers up to 34 TH/s of hashrate at as much as 600 watts, with efficiency rated at 12 J/TH. Because the unit uses water cooling, it does not require a fan and operates without noise. The product is designed for self-installation and fits the common one-inch standard interface used by 30- to 80-gallon electric water heaters in the U.S. and Canada, including models from A. O. Smith, Rheem, Bradford White, Whirlpool, and GE. Users can monitor water temperature, hashrate, and mining income through an app, and choose either solo mining or a mining pool. Bitcoin mined by the device is sent to an address controlled by the user. Heatbit priced the first “Genesis batch” at $899, with later batches costing up to $1,299. Pre-orders are refundable, and shipments are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

Heatbit launches $899 Bitwater element that mines Bitcoin while heating water

Heatbit has introduced Bitwater, a water heater element designed to mine Bitcoin while heating household water. The product replaces the resistance wire in a standard electric water heater element with 20 Bitmain BM1370 mining chips, using the heat they generate to warm the tank instead. Heatbit says the unit can reach up to 34 TH/s, draw up to 600 watts, and run without fans because the surrounding water cools the chips. The company says Bitwater fits standard one-inch ports on 30- to 80-gallon electric tanks in the U.S. and Canada, including models from A. O. Smith, Rheem, Bradford White, Whirlpool, and GE, without plumbing changes or a new circuit. Users can monitor water temperature, hashrate, and mining earnings through an app, and choose solo mining or pool mining with payouts sent to a wallet address they control. Heatbit priced the first refundable preorder batch at $899, with later batches reaching as much as $1,299, and said shipments are expected in the first quarter of 2027. The company did not publish its own earnings forecast, but shared an estimate from xAI’s Grok chatbot of about $1 to $1.25 per day. Based on Hashrate Index data cited by Decrypt, a unit running at 34 TH/s would generate about $1.25 in Bitcoin per day, or roughly $455 per year, though returns would vary with Bitcoin price and network difficulty.
